The pace with which the world is turning from a self-dependent entity to an Internet dependent genus is actually very flabbergasting for any enthusiast who with all his efforts is trying to revive and enlighten people on the harms this rapid technological advancement pose for those living in self-proclaimed harmony at the moment. And it’s Just at the moment and not any long term investment.

Technology is proliferating at an exponential pace and despite law enforcement’s best efforts, cybercrime grows unabated. In coming years, we will witness an explosion in the use of robotics, artificial intelligence, nanotechnology and synthetic biology. And this is when Internet of Things (IOT) would be an obvious adversary to any of the above said technologies or may be a support too.

The IoT is a big news because it ups the ante: ‘Reach out and touch somebody’ is becoming ‘reach out and touch everything’.But is this abrupt reliability on the Internet is something we need or want? We may solely look at the innumerous advantages it may bring along but all that would be looking off the scruples our forefather left for us to derive and spread.

Its very cool to assume how to IoT may come into our lives and within no time take control of us and frame us to be exceptionally in support of this extraordinary idea of those enthusiasts who have been seeing it as a next big thing.

Imagine a situation when your fridge can identify that you have run out of milk; it contacts the supermarket and orders the quantity you usually need, and also informs you by sending a message on your phone! Or suppose your alarm rings at 6:30 am; you wake up and switch it off. As soon as you switch off your alarm, it conveys to the geyser to heat water at a temperature you prefer and also the coffee maker starts brewing coffee! Assuming all this makes your heart skip a beat now and makes you go berserk as to “Wow that’s Special!”

But the Point lies here that is it Just another phenomena coming to our lives to take over and keep us camouflaged about the upheaves it may bring along with it. Working in one of the companies that derives its meaning out of IoT, I may go on and on with stating the advantages of IoT like Avoiding a lot of undoing that happen accidentally, Ease of monitoring a vast implementation, Security, Multitasking enhancement, Industry Multiplication, Employment Generation and the list is big. But being an analyst I won’t refrain from highlighting the fact that any technology which grows now is for a day to come when any and all of us would lament being so highly dependent on it.

We Humans were sent on this Earth to co-exist with variety of others of us, to communicate and see life as it is But as the dependence on technology starts to erupt, Are we really left the good communicators that we once were? Stats say No, after the arrival of these social networks, No family reunion has ever meant the same platform of Joy it once was. With Iot we may have robots in everything we use, but doesn’t that account for us humans to be lazy. Letting all the hard work done by the machines, is it just all that we once did.

Putting everything on the cloud is a major threat why so many environment problems take place now a days. We say Global warming is because of increase in Population, Increase In number of vehicles and etc but do we ever realize how increase in number of big servers have caused this Warming. A study stated that ever since Facebook installed its server in the Arctic Circle, the temperature there has gone down by 3 degrees. Doesn’t that cause the problem we all are fighting against? Sure it does.

Yes we may never seize to talk of the advancements this IoT may bring but going back in time and saving this life for any added time, one thing we dearly need to consider is to understand that over dependence of technology is twin serge terminology and so is IoT. “The difference between technology and slavery is that slaves are fully aware that they are not free”. So let’s Just not be unbridled to its repercussions and spread the motive of us humans on this planet very clear.

After all It is one thing to use computers as a tool, quite another to let them do your thinking for you. Technology is a queer thing. It brings you gifts with one hand, and stabs you in the back with the other. Realizing this now would serve the world top notch than anything ever will that is planned to reduce the workload they undergo in this life full of commotion.
